Behind the beautiful bay the grandiose mountain landscape of Mallorca rises up with its old 'possessions' or estates, watchtowers, woods and the Trappist monastery "Sa Trapa", which is currently being restored. Sant Elm is the departure point for many delightful excursions. Opposite the hotel is the island of "Sa Dragonera", a protected natural zone communicated by mini-ferry.
This picturesque, peaceful fishing village, formerly a pirates' hiding place, has preserved its authentic charm. There are numerous restaurants, bars and shops. 7 km. away is the port and meeting place for the "chic", Puerto Andratx (nightlife, shopping). In summer a regular bus service connects Sant Elm with Andratx (7 km. away), Peguera (14 km. away) and Palma (30 km. away).
